Interactive Web Design
Websites that move.
Interactive web design from Oslo: motion, scroll-driven storytelling, real-time canvas and WebGL. Built by hand as an experience, and engineered to load fast and be found.
What is interactive web design?
Interactive web design builds a website as an experience rather than a static page. Instead of a fixed layout the visitor simply reads, the page moves and responds: motion and transitions, scroll-driven storytelling, real-time canvas or WebGL, and micro-interactions that react to touch and pointer. This very site is an example, six rooms you move through rather than scroll past.
The point is not decoration. Interaction, used with intent, earns attention and makes a brand memorable in a way a flat page cannot. It guides the eye, sets pace, and turns visiting into an experience people remember and come back to.
How we build it
Motion with purpose. Every animation does a job: it directs attention, communicates state, or tells part of the story. Nothing moves just to move.
A strict performance budget. Interaction is engineered to 60fps, on a page that still holds Core Web Vitals in green. The heavy work is done with the right tools, canvas, WebGL, hardware-accelerated transforms, so the experience is fluid on a phone, not just a desktop.
Findable underneath. The markup stays real HTML, crawlable without JavaScript, so search engines and AI systems read the page whether or not the motion runs. The experience is a layer on top of a fast, findable site, never a substitute for one.
Accessible by default. Every experience honors prefers-reduced-motion and stays fully usable without the animation, with keyboard support and honest contrast.
Where it fits
Interactive design sits on top of the same foundation as the rest of our work. If you want a straightforward, brand-driven site, see web design in Oslo. The visibility layer, being found in Google search and in AI answers (GEO), is built in either way.
Questions
Does motion hurt speed or SEO? Not when it is engineered. A strict performance budget and crawlable HTML keep the page fast and findable while it moves.
Is it accessible? Yes. Reduced-motion is honored and the site works without the animation.
What does it cost? Project-based, a fixed quote before anything starts, scoped to the depth of the interaction. Typically three to six weeks to launch.
