GEO Agency

Be the answer, when AI answers.

GEO — generative engine optimization. Elevate Labs engineers how businesses appear inside AI answers: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews. Structured, citable, first.

What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?

Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the practice of structuring a business's web presence so generative AI systems — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews — find, trust and cite it when they compose answers. Classic SEO earns a position in a list of links; GEO earns a citation inside the answer itself. The two are related but not the same: search engines rank pages, generative engines quote sources.

When someone asks an AI assistant "who should build our website?" or "which SEO agency in Oslo is worth talking to?", the assistant does not show ten blue links. It composes one answer from the sources it can read, verify and attribute. GEO is the discipline of becoming one of those sources.

Why GEO matters now

A growing share of search happens inside AI answers, and inside an answer only cited sources exist — there is no page two. Businesses that become citable early tend to keep that position: generative systems favor sources that are established, consistent and machine-readable, which compounds over time. Waiting until "AI search" is the default means competing against sources the engines already trust.

How Elevate Labs does GEO

Machine-readable facts. An llms.txt layer, structured data (schema.org), and consistent entity information — name, location, services, languages — everywhere an AI crawler reads, so the systems know exactly who you are and what you do.

Citable content. Clear claims, real numbers, answerable questions on real HTML pages — crawlable without JavaScript, because most AI crawlers do not execute scripts. Content engineered to be quoted, not just ranked.

Consistency across surfaces. The same facts on the site, in structured data, in the machine-readable layer and across the open web. Contradictions cost citations; consistency earns them.

GEO and SEO belong together

GEO does not replace SEO — it builds on it. Crawlable structure, honest content and technical health remain the foundation; GEO adds the layer that generative engines need. Elevate Labs runs both as one practice: see our SEO agency in Oslo page for the search side of the same method.

Questions

What does a GEO agency cost? Project-based, scoped to the outcome — a fixed quote before anything starts, never an open meter.

How fast does GEO show results? AI answers often react within weeks — machine-readable changes are picked up faster than classic rankings move.

Does GEO replace SEO? No. Rankings and citations feed each other; we engineer both as one system.
